HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid
This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings. It includes managing emergency situations, applying first aid procedures for injuries and illnesses, and coordinating with emergency services until medical assistance arrives.
HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
This unit focuses on the ability to perform CPR in line with Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines. It includes assessing an emergency situation, following the DRSABCD action plan, and performing continuous CPR on adult, child, and infant manikins, including the use of an AED.

How long is a First Aid & CPR certificate valid in Australia?
The HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid certificate is valid for 3 years, while the CPR component (HLTAID009) must be refreshed every 12 months to remain compliant with workplace requirements.
